Preparation and Usage
Directions: For cutaneous use. Pruritus (itching): Apply to the affected area 2-3 times daily. Irritation will be relieved for 6 to 10 hours. Scabies: After bathing apply to all areas below the chin including inbetween the fingers and toes. Repeat the treatment 24 hours later. A bath should be taken a day after with a change of clothes and bedding. All contacts should be treated at the same time. If symptoms persist consult your doctor. Eurax can be used for children. For children under 3 years of age consult your doctor before use and do not apply more than once a day. Always use this medicine exactly as described or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Talk to a doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse.
Safety Warnings
Cautions: Do not use in the mouth, in or around the eyes, on broken skin, for weeping skin conditions or if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients. Eurax is not recommended in pregnancy. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Eurax if you are breast feeding, or suffering from genital itching. Nursing mothers should avoid applying Eurax in the area of the nipples. Stearyl alcohol may cause local skin reactions (eg. contact dermatitis). The perfume contains benzyl benzoate which may cause mild irritation to the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Methyl parahydroxybenzoate may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed). Use near the eyes may cause inflammation of the eye. If this occurs or you experience other symptoms stop using the product and consult your doctor. In case of accidental contact with the eyes or mouth, rinse thoroughly with water. If Eurax is accidentally swallowed, contact your nearest hospital casualty department or tell your doctor immediately. Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them: Allergic reactions (affects 1-10 in 10,000 people); STOP using Eurax Cream and seek medical help immediately if you have any of the following which may be signs of an allergic reaction: difficulty in breathing or swallowing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, severe itching of the skin, with a red rash or raised bumps. Other side effects include itching (affects 1-10 in 100 people); rash, itchy rash, skin reddening, eczema, swelling (affects 1-10 in 10,000 people). Reporting of side effects If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet.
